1. Gangster movies galore!

This weekend was spending studying burgers & beers for my new job, and watching movies, like crazy.

Movie #1: “The Sting”. Plot: In 1930s Chicago, a young con man seeking revenge for his murdered partner teams up with a master of the big con to win a fortune from a criminal banker.

This movie has both Robert Redford and Paul Newman. The movie was similar to Ocean’s 11. Good movie. I give it a 8/10.

Movie #2: “The Godfather”. Ohhh epic! Number 2 on the top 250. Plot: The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.

That’s such a short plot synopsis considering how long the movie is! It was a very good movie, but to me I wouldn’t consider it in my top 10. I give it 8.2/10.

Movie #3: “Goodfellas”. The plot: Henry Hill and his friends work their way up through the mob hierarchy.

Again, short synopsis. LONG movie. This was by far my favorite out of all three this weekend. Ray Liotta kept me interested the whole time. I give it an 8.5/10.

Anyway— I think we are right on track for our 2011 goal of watching all 250 movies by the years end. Hooray! Sidenote: we have both seen quite a few that we are aloud to skip over since we’ve seen them. Well, happy Sunday readers!
